ABOUT

Dallas-based Graphic Designer, Artist and Muralist, Camargo’s artistic concept is “The Energy of Happiness”. The idea behind it is that emotions can be transferred from one entity to another, Alejandra chooses to paint only those things that provoke or awake positive emotions, she believes her paintings can become vessels of happiness.   She was born in Miami Beach, Florida and raised in Caracas Venezuela, she grew up obsessed with painting and sculpture. She graduated with a degree in graphic design from “El Instituto de Diseño de Caracas” in Venezuela, and has been working as an Art Director in Advertising for the past 10 years. Simultaneously she has been working nights and weekends on her passion, painting, which has led her to do collective and solo shows in Venezuela, Mexico and the USA. Her influences come from her passion for other cultures, languages and art expressions, which has taken her through travels around Europe and Asia, and lived in Mexico City and San Diego, California. All this exposure has affected her work in many different ways.   Because of the ongoing crisis in Venezuela she and her husband decided to permanently move to Dallas 2 years ago, were they have been living happily and love being a part of the city culture. Alejandra has murals in Deep Ellum and the Design District, and has done collective and solo show in the city.

 
 

BIO

Alejandra works as a Digital Art Director at Publicis Hawkeye, has murals in Deep Ellum and the Design District, has been selected twice in the 42 Murals project, also was one of the artists chosen by the city of Dallas to create a custom B&G Letters for East Dallas, and done collective and solo shows in the city.
